Home Economics 2006 Program
MISSION
To promote home building skills of Grange members and non Grange members, through local and state contests that encourage the development of individual’s skills, both in the kitchen and in the home.
The Home Economics Department of the Vermont State Grange encourages members to improve home making skills through the display of handicrafts, kitchen products and promotes the teaching of home skills to those interested in learning. To accomplish this, we encourage local Granges to open their doors to provide a forum for learning, allowing skilled members to teach and mentor others, and by so doing, to bring new members into the Grange. Although many of the contests are limited to Grange members, it is hoped that local Granges would institute local shows. Working with the Agriculture and Community Service Committees to provide stimulating programs of community interest through the sponsorship of local contests or other community activities.
