The mission is to help community residents by making Grangers available to assist with needs of the community. To improve relations between Grange and Community by jointly helping each other with projects to benefit of both.

Words for Thirds

Through this project, Grangers provide dictionaries to third graders in their communities. This is the 3rd year Vermont Granges have taken on this community project. This is still a worthwhile Grange project. Dictionaries may now be purchased directly from:

2006 State Grange Community Service Award Program:

• Select your project
• Set the goal for your Community Grange
• Involve your community
• Involve your members in the project
• Keep accurate records of the hours spent by members and nonmembers in community service activities
• File the Annual Report with the State Community Service Director

Scoring:

• Need for project (10 pts)
• Program Plan (10 pts)
• Cooperation Achieved (10 pts)
• Project Evaluation (45 pts)
• Presentation of final report (25 pts)

Recognition: Each participating Grange will receive a seal on the Achievement certificate.
